Chris E's Video rocket on a Smokey Sam Pro38. This file is a 4.3Mb AVI

Paul B's Loc Onyx on an Aerotech E15 29mm RMS. The ejection charge fired but the nose wasnt blown off and it recovered in the lawn dart style. Big EARS 2nd, 3rd & 4th May 2003

Our annual big launch event. This year it was over the three days of the May Bank Holiday weekend. It was farily wind so not as much flying was done as we would have liked but I think folks had a good time. Saturday was a bit dull and windy but things brightened up for Sunday. Monday was bright but windier so most folks called it quits and didnt fly at all.

EARS Big Red Nose Launch. This file is a 21Mb mpeg

Stevenage Space Day 24th May 2003

The delightful conurbation that is Stevenage held a promotional "Space Day" in the town shopping centre. My employers, Astrium, were involved and I got asked if I could do something for rocketry following a stand I did for the Astrium Families day last year. So with able and willing help from Steve Gibbings and Sal Davis we had a combined UKRA / EARS stand. Take a look at the piccies here

EARS mid August Launch 17th August 2003

After two months of cancelled launches due to the wheat and rape in the fields at the launch site being very dry and close to / ready to harvest we finally got the go ahead from the farmer for a launch on the 17th. This meant Steve Gibbings was finally able to make his Level 3 certification attempt with his rocket "Tinnitus". After a very long day and a couple of hiccups Steve finally managed to get Tinnitus in to the air around 6-30. Below are a couple of mpegs of the launch. A small one and a large one depending on your connection speed ;0).

Tinnitus Lift Off Large (5.73Mb)

Tinnitus Lift Off Small (1.49Mb)
